I broke one of the SATA ports on my motherboard (Gigabyte Z87 UD3HP) while trying to unplug a hard drive that I wanted to replace with an SSD. Maybe I pulled too hard on the connection. The plastic piece came off, exposing pins that were broken off. My motherboard has at least 5 other SATA ports. I plugged the new drive into one of those other ports and everything seems to work fine. Is there anything I should be concerned about, or should everything be fine except for the one port?

As long as you haven't caused a short, you should be fine. If it was me I might put some non-conductive putty or other sealant (hot glue?) into the broken slot to prevent accidental electrical contacts in the future.
