That's hilarious, I never knew there was such a thing as a "gaming" chair.Just get a office chair that's comfy, I've been gaming on office chairs all my life and don't have any comfort issues or back injuries LOL.
A gaming office chair is stuff like this basically

Loads of people use them, surprised you haven't seen them!

Probably because I'm not a hard core gamer, but it shouldn't surprise me since anything that has to do with computers has a gaming flavor anyways.

Fair enough. But when i've been looking for chairs, they all seem to be around the same price as these gaming chairs. So i'd rather go with one of them to be honest.

Personally, I don't know if I could spend $200 for a chair that I've never sat in, that I would be spending major amounts of time in.
Those may look good. But are they comfortable for you?
Go try some out.

I have this seat and I love it! http://www.amazon.com/Office-Star-Professional-Managers...
The mesh upper keeps it breathable during the summer when it gets hot. Easy to assemble and adjust.

There's no where to go where I live to test them out. Apart from Ikea. But there prices are the same as the gamingseat

Well...I'd hate to spend that and then find out it does not fit my butt. A chair is not like a PC where you can change things. Either it is comfortable or it isn't.
And what fits me may not fit you.

Seriously, if you're spending over $120 on chairs, they're all going to be comfortable. What you need to know if what you want in your chair.USAFRet said:

Good point. I will do my best and look around. I also don't want to buy a crappy £70 chair of amazon because it is cheap. And if I go to places that i trust (like ikea) the chairs are £150. Which is the same as the gaming chairs. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/department...

the typical office chairs that you buy in office supply stores are junk.
most are made of plywood with plastic arms. the bolts which hold everything together will rather easily strip out and eventually the chair will fall apart. i typically go through one $150-200 chair a year.
they are disposable junk, generally.
as far as gaming chairs go... some of those are also the same sort of junk and will fall apart.
--
so what is a good chair?
if you want a gaming style seat... look into needforseat chairs here http://www.needforseat.de/eu_english/media/index.php as they are 2x the chair you will find anywhere else. they have a real metal frame and not some hokey plywood backing and typically they only sell chairs with metal legs (at least in the usa division). the chair should last you much longer then going with the competition.
they do cost more though.
another high dollar chair that is actually worthwhile are chairs by herman miller, specifically the aeron http://www.hermanmiller.com/products/seating/performanc... and while expensive... considering it can last you years and years is definitely a sound investment.

i'm already about $600+ in the hole on computer chairs for the last 6 years or so and that includes fixing them when they break. i currently have a hole in my seat in two places where i replaced stripped bolts with new ones and washers and am using a blanket as a cushion because the pad failed. the chair still leans to the side since the one armrest side bolt is pulling out. junk.
this is what i am currently using http://www.staples.com/Staples-Montbrook-Top-Grain-Leat...
--
in general:
you want metal
at a bare minimum something with metal arm braces which are secured to the back and seat in a strong way. not the typical bolt and pressed-in nut used on most chair construction. this does not work and always fails eventually.
will you spend more to get something decent? yes. however, quality isnt cheap.

I too have recently been researching the gaming chair market. I have a limited budget so cannot afford to get the decision wrong. I found a useful article on a gaming chair wholesalers website www.interactiveminds.net that gives some incite into the options available.
My research to date leads me to the X-Rocker Vision Pro 2.1 Wireless Surround Sound which appears to have all the features you could want at a reasonable price. Found it cheapest at www.boysstuff.co.uk.
Hope that is useful.
