Replacing my motherboard = Reinstall Windows 7?

I was told that if I replace my motherboard, I will have to reinstall Windows 7. I no longer have the disc necessary to reinstall it, so does that mean that in order to get Windows 7 back on my computer after replacing my motherboard, I will have to purchase Windows 7 again?

Did you get a retail or OEM Window 7? If you don't have a product key then yes you need to get another licence.

Not quite sure what OEM means, but I purchased this computer used with Windows 7 already installed if that answers anything.

OEM=Original Equipment Manufacturer
A pre-installed Windows is most likely an OEM. Licence is not transferable when changing motherboard.
You will need another Window licence.
