Better said..... IPS has better color accuracy .... this makes it the ideal choice for photo editing where you want accurate skin tones. This has 0 impact in gaming and this advantage wanes when gaming due to overdrive technology. As for color quality, this is related to the fact that most TN panels use 6 bit color whereas IPS uses 8 bit color. The panel used in the RoG Swift however also uses 8 bit color.
Wider viewing angles would come in handy if you had two persons sitting either side of you while gaming, but if you don't,...... Again important for photo editing but if it's just the gamer looking at the screen, it don't think it will really affect the gaming experience
Looking at advertised response times doesn't tell the true story.
1. Almost everyone lies about response times; advertised response times and measured 3rd party response time most often are wide apart.
2. Most panels uses "overdrive / response time compensation" to compensate for the slow response times.... this has a negative effect on image quality. Read "Problems with overdrive" section in link below .... the more you hammer the OD, the more impact OD has ..... hence greater impact on native slow response panels thna on quick ones.
