Does you think its possible to put a lighting strip through the center of a reservoir so it would glow?

I just had a thought and it was putting a lighting strip through the center of a reservoir to make a cool glowing effect, for example getting a thin but long test tube and gluing it to the top with a hole to rest the strip in. http://imgur.com/gallery/4k9Pin8/new (here's a diagram Sorry for using paint!)

Whats your views and opinions on it?

Looks cool. You can easily get waterproof LED strips so you don't have to worry too much about it not getting wet. I'd probably try putting the strip in some coloured, frosted glass so you can't see individual LEDs.

The frosted glass sounds good and I haven't really looked into it to much either so.
