~$300 budget, currently GTX 285 - buy 770 or hold out?

I upgraded the rest of my rig recently... I'm still using my old GTX 285 1GB and playing what I am playing at management settings. I was thinking of getting the Asus GTX 770 2GB version or possibly holding out for another couple months (maybe) to see if the higher end cards drop in price to the same price the 770's are now.

Is it possible the next tier of Nvidia cards will drop to the low $300's in the next few months or am I hoping for too much too soon? I am OK with not getting the most current, hence the 770, but if i can get more power/vram for my $300 in a couple months i was debating to hold out.

Thoughts?

The GTX 860 should fall within that price range, if you can wait that long.
If not the 760 will handle your games quite well at 1080p.
