Hi everyone :)

I need your advice :)

I would like to get a new laptop to have a comfortable portable environment (it is not a substitute for a desktop since I've already got a good desktop computer).

I want a work only laptop for lab/uni. I need something powerful enough for what I do but I don't need a war thunder either (some demanding computing programs for things like software similarities or program analysis/testing, several virtual machines running concurrently) . It's not the purpose of a laptop to be super powerful anyway :p  I currently use a thinkpad T430 (4 gigs, an old i5, no SSD) and it's really a pain to work on it.

I'm looking for something with :

-good Intel processor with the latest instruction set (aka no older generation even if the raw performances are worth the price). For example a i7 4700HQ or a 4810MQ would be nice.

-SSD for the main OS and several virtual machines, some hard drive for storage but no big need (just 128GB of SSD is a bit

-at least 8GB of Ram (I'm really struggling with 4 gigs at the office at the moment, I definitely use all the 8 gigs on my desktop)

-I would really appreciate hardware disk encryption capabilities

-graphic card : I don't need a graphic card. I'd like not to pay extra fees for a big card.

-screen : 13-14. I guess 14 is a bit trade-off.

-resolution : 1920*1080 (or more)

-battery : something decent but I don't need to stay like 10 hours with no access to a socket. I don't want to have to plug my computer after 1 hour of intensive usage either.

-OS : preferably none, windows 8.1 64-bit otherwise.

-good touch-pad, good keyboard.

-if possible : good looking, light, thin.

-I don't need an optical drive

-I'm currently in the UK

I saw this computer :
http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Gigabyte_P34G_v2-CF1_4th...

I saw another computer but not on a UK shop which is the MSI GE60 2PF.

I'm quite afraid for the autonomy since they embed big graphic cards.

Do you have idea of laptop better suited for me?

By the way, I'm new to the UK so I don't really know about the good online places. Is laptopdirect okay? Are they other good/better sites? :)

Thanks in advance!

Cheers!
