So I am relatively new to overclocking and I was able to hit 4.7ghz on my Intel Core i5 4670-k running at 1.3v. My cooling solution is a corsair H60 and temps are idling around 45 degrees. Do you think I could squeeze more out of my chip? Or would it compromise my components lifespans?

What are your max temps in Prime95 Small FFTs, and Intel Burn Test?
Use HWmonitor to monitor the temps.
Good luck! Let me know your max temps. :)

When running Intel Burn Test, at 100% load my temps were hitting 100 degrees. Although when it went down to around 85% load, it only hit about 72 degrees.

Oh god, That's way too hot! You need to reduce your voltage and OC RIGHT AWAY!
Try 1.2 on the Vcore and 4.3Ghz. Re-test and tell me what temps you hit. :)

When running Assassin's Creed 4 on high details at 4XMSAA when the cores got up into the 90% usage mark, the temps stayed around 65 degrees.

That doesn't matter.
Your temps while stress testing are way too hot, and that's what matters.
You should be around 45-55C on the CPU while gaming. :)
Please try a Vcore of 1.2, and put your OC to 4.3 for now and tell me what your temps are like in IBT.
Thanks.

On Intel Burn Test I was hitting 80 max

That's much better! I wouldn't go over that though. See how high of an OC you can get while keeping the Vcore at 1.2.
Best of luck :)

Thanks so much! I was able to get a 4.4 at 1.18v but I think either 4.4 or 4.5 will be my max.

No worries! That's a nice OC, you got a better chip than me :p
Please select my answer as the solution if you're happy with my advice :)

Thank you haha. I was able to clock in 4.5 ghz at 1.2v. I have tried 4.6ghz at 1.2v but it is not stable. I guess it is all luck of the draw. :)
Also how do I select your answer as the best?

4.5 at 1.2 is an amazing OC. Well done. :)
Make sure you run at least 10 passes on 'very high' in IBT to make sure you're completely stable.

You press 'pick this answer as the solution' under any of my posts. Thank you :)

I can't seem to find the "pick this answer as the solution" button anywhere? This is my first thread lol :)

Weird. It should be a little green button in every one of my posts.
Welcome to the forums! Thanks for choosing Toms, you made the right decision! :D

Thanks! I've always used Tom's Hardware for PC questions. Yeah for some reason there is no little green button near any of your responses?

Hmm, that's okay! You might have made the thread a discussion rather than a question, I'm not too sure. :)
