We may have some members from those companies.

In general, job requirements and their educational requirements will vary, per vacancy. Electrical engineering, software engineering, computer science, etc will meet many needs at such companies. Experience will also be highly desired.

Software engineers are in high demand and not just at the companies you listed.

In my professional capacity (I don't work for any if the companies you listed, but they have worked for me), I look for more than just educational credentials. I look for experience and something that differentiates one candidate from another (leadership, volunteerism, etc). Getting a particular degree is only one aspect to getting a job.

The real question is this, "What do you want to do with your degree?". What are you goals?

Hi,

Many companies post bulk recent graduate entry level positions that require a B.S/M.S in computer science or equivalent. They'll sort out the individuals during and after the interview process.

If you're looking to work on the hardware design side of things a Computer Science degree is probably not the best route to take, most design work is done by computer engineers and electrical engineers. If on the other hand you don't mind digging into some compiler theory and working on optimizations, CS will do you fine.

@pinhedd, you got my point at once, thanks for your helpful response, no matter whether if I works on hardware or software both are fine for me but just want to put myself in one of those companies, recently I'm searching UBISOFT, another thing is what are the starting salaries of those companies??? Do they provide a personal Car, House or any other facilities???

Ubisoft is primarily a game developer and as such most of their positions will be software and algorithm oriented so a CS degree will put you in a good position.

Starting salary for Engineering jobs is very high, between $70,000 and $90,000 a year depending on the individuals skills, experience, and location. Many technology companies will provide assistance relocating and may provide accommodations for interns (I know that Microsoft does). I must stress that these are not simple code monkey jobs but rather full fledged engineering jobs. Given that computer science is not a regulated professional program like computer/software engineering your options and expectations may vary a bit and prospective employers may dig into your academic background a bit; if you're attending a high quality school though I wouldn't worry.

well, I'm originally from Pakistan but I want to work in U.S.A because abroad countries have a good priority for CS and SE. Here in pakistan CS has a wide range but most of them are networking, not an issue for me but as I mentioned I want to work in company. UBISOFT is best for me, So shall I proceed CS?

Salary thats more than enough I was expecting much lower than that but is that same with the CS or only with SE?

Does M.Phil helps?
Pakistan does not have even a single building of those companies so I should have to work abroad. What do you say?

Working abroad is a good option because as you mention Pakistan does not have a large software industry. India does though.

In any case, if you want to work/study in the USA you will need to obtain the appropriate permits to do so and this can take a while.

I work for imflash/imft (its a joint venture between intel and micron) so technically I work for Intel and Micron yet neither at the same time. They hire a lot of people US and foreign with the following degrees- Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, Fabrication, Information Systems, Instructional Performance Technology, Physics and Manufacturing Technology. Big emphasis on Engineering and Manufacturing Technology. Not much in the way of vehicles as you asked, but they do have a relocation package or payout upon being hired for most positions. Good luck with finding the right path for you.
