Hi there!

I recently started building a new computer because my old one crashed and burned (literally). I had to get a new motherboard and cpu, so I went from my old i7 920 @ 2.67GHz to an AMD FX-6300 @ 3.5GHz. I recycled my old GTX 260 from my old computer into my new one along with the RAM, then bought an SSD and installed Windows 8.1. I've been keeping a close eye on temperatures, because I'm always afraid when I build something that I'll mess it up somehow. I wanted to ask the community here if my temps were looking good or not.

CPU Temperatures:
At Idle (0-5% Usage): 17°C to 24°C
Under Typical Load (30-50% Usage): 28°C to 35°C
Under Peak (For me) Load (60-80% Usage): 35°C to 45°C, sometimes peaking up 50°C for a second or two

GPU 1 (NVidia GeForce GTX 260 Reference Card)
At Idle: 57-60°C
Under Load: 85°C

GPU 2 (ATI Radeon HD 5670)
At Idle: 50°C
Under Typical load: 52°C - 55°C
*This GPU is used to power two additional monitors and isn't used for gaming

SSD:
At Idle: 36°C
Under load: 40°C

HDD 1:
At Idle: 35°C-37°C
Under load: 40°C-45°C

HDD 2:
At Idle: 41°C
Under load: 42°C-46°C

Ambient Case Temperatures (From CPUID HWMonitor)

TMPIN0: 42°C-49°C
TMPIN1: 41°C-47°C
TMPIN2: 23°C-36°C

Do these temperatures look good? I'm already planning on adding more fans to the case, specifically a 120mm fan to the forward-facing side-panel and an additional 120mm fan on my CPU cooler, possibly with one more 120mm fan on the top of my case, although this would require a modification to the case as it doesn't have a built-in fan slot. :(

Thanks,
Kayla ~

Thank you for your reply! ^.^ I have a feeling that the thermal paste in my NVidia card has long since dried up, but I'm afraid to take it apart to fix that because the last time I opened up the card, I managed to break the plug for the fan and pull out one of the wires so it was locked at 100% fan speed. *ashamed* I managed to fix it, but I'm still paranoid about opening it again.

My power supply is the Corsair TX650 v2. I bought it off a friend for $40, unopened! :p

Probably between $300-$400. I've been looking at some of the R9 280 or 290 cards, or I'll wait for the GTX 800 series and see what those cards bring.

The Sapphire 290 is exactly the one I've been looking at, actually. :p In part because it's black and orange, and my case is black and orange as well. I have the Cougar Archon case.
