Hi All,

I'm doing a hackentosh build and I need to find a RAID 5 card that will support at least 300 MB/s of throughput...Cost is not a huge issue, but I did want to stay away from SSD drives because I'm going to need about 10 TB of space...was thinking of 4 x 3TB, which would give me 9 TB of RAID 5 storage...

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated...I've been searching all over the web and have seen some decent solutions from LSI, but there are so many options and I'm not sure of the benefits of some of the bells and whistles...

Thanks in advance,

jb

Do you mean 300MB/s per channel? If you mean as a whole, then literally any SATA 6 GB/s RAID card will be fine.

Hey Tyr0d,

Thanks for the response...I just need 300+ MB/s total sustained...I need i OSX compatible...I was thinking about this setup:

HighPoint RocketRAID 2720SGL and
4 x Seagate Barracuda STBD3000100 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s

I know I'd also need a mini SAS to SATA breakout cable...

This seem like over kill? I'd love to get some suggestions from you on cards...

Thanks!
