I have a 3x2GB DDR3 corsair ram that runs at 1600MHz and a 4GB DDR3 kingston ram running at 1333MHz. Windows only detects 4GB but in CPU-Z it says 10GB and it only runs at dual channel. I have a ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard. I referred to the manual on the position of the 4 DIMMS.

Other specs:
i7 920
GTX 650
Corsair CX500

I got this setup from my friend and he got the 10GB to work. Unfortunately he forgot what he did to get it to work.

I tried using only the 3x2GB but the system wont even post.

UPDATE: I got the 3x2GB to work but the system still sees 4GB. CPU-Z detects 6GB at dual channel. I inserted my ram sticks at the A1 B1 C1 slots
