I was wondering if I should sell this computer and then buying and building a new (better) one from scratch after the 10 months , any suggestions if to sell it or not? and if you could what price would you sell/buy it for? also I am in Ireland so I would sell it here. Another thing which you probably guessed is this PC is second-hand. The reason I thought of this is because the prices might lower and new technology will be developed so yeah.

you will lose your butt on the computer most likely.

prices drop at the rate of about 15-20% every six months off the new price, depending of course on how in demand the hardware is.

you could still use your pc when you get back in 10 months. perhaps upgrade the graphics card at that point and you will be good to go.

i am still running my i7-920 and while it does show its age, my system is still going strong and will be around for years more.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'm going to sell the parts which I'll definitely upgrade (graphics card, motherboard, keyboard+mouse) but going to leave everything else.

I would hold off on selling your motherboard. My old Z68 board died out on me a while ago and finding a new replacement was a real pain in the butt. Sure there are some but the idea of buying obsolete (lets be honest, 1155 has run it's course) isn't great. I would just sell the keyboard/mouse and graphics card. The 3770K is still a great performer so changing away from that right now doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Hell, I'm on my spare PC right now, and that's a really old P5Q3 motherboard and a C2Q 9550. All I had to do was swap out the video card and I'm back playing most games on medium/high settings.

Good Luck to you, and Bon Voyage!
