hey so im relatively new to pc building and i gathered a list of parts that im planning on buying to build my pc. im just wondering if someone with a bit more experience could tell me if everything will work well together that i have picked out. and if not what would be better. also if i forgot anything let me know. thanks

That PSU is way way way way way too much. Thats about double what you need. You need something like 600w - 700w PSU. You also don't need more than 8gb of RAM unless you are doing video work.

That PSU is way overpowered unless you are going to crossfire. The case is OK, but there are better options. Get a Samsung EVO SSD if you have the budget, or the Crucial MX100 if you need a cheaper one. You don't need 16gb of RAM if you are only gaming and get something with lower CAS. WD RED is for servers, get Blue or Black or Seagate Barracuda. I'd probably go for an i5- 4690k and Z97 mobo given how much you're going to be spending. What is your budget?

Will it work well? Yes, could it be better? Yes.
 


It's way too much. He will save himself some money that way.

im spending $2000 Canadian on all the parts currently listed and i am planning on running 2 r9 290 in crossfire. and as for ram i want it to be overkill just incase i ever need more in the future.

id rather go big i want the possibility to crossfire 2 r9 295x2s in the future.
and if anyone has suggestions on better cases id appreciate that.
