Software to capture hardware profile and configuration on Windows 2000

Good afternoon all,

I am looking for a lightweight software application that can extract the computer's hardware details and configuration. It would also be great to get software details, such as version and patch level.

I have an issue on some Windows 2000 machines, and would like to somehow easily get people to get a snapshot of each machine - consistent for all machines.

Any ideas?

Try the free Belarc Advisor from HERE. It runs on all versions of Windows and has tons of information available on your hardware and software. It's output is to a web page but it can be saved IIRC.

It is free for personal use but may require a license for some multicomputer users.
