Upgrading from Geforce GTX 295 - Budget $100 or is it fixable?

I have a GTX 295 that will play any graphic intense game for approximately 10 minutes and then the monitor will go to no signal. The only way to get it to come back is forcefully reboot the computer. I have read where this is overheating issues, but I tried cleaning it etc..

At this point what is a good card to replace this one for or is there any other tips to fix that i have overlooked.

A GTX 295 should be comparable to a Geforce 750 or a r7 260x, the 750 is around 140 and the 260x around $110, i personally recomend the r9 270 that is around $150.

You could also look at the r7 265.

You could try cleaning off and replacing the thermal paste on the GPUs if its overheating. The thermal paste just tends to get old and dry.

Thanks for the tip, after replacing the paste my temps were substantially lower, I tried running some benchmarks and the card never even got close to overheating.

Yeah its quite common for the paste to get useless when it gets old and dry.
