I understand ITT Tech is a bit of a joke, however it was where I went approximately 7 years ago and received the above entitled degree. I've since worked two very good jobs in the IT field and I'm somewhat successful.

My question is, even though I know ITT Tech is not a real school/college or a respectable place at all...but is this a real degree other than just the paper it's written on?

I would say its a real degree, just not well respected and wont move you on towards a BA or Masters, hence the lack of employment opportunities and colleges that will transfer the credits.

Often a decent set of certifications will open more doors at 1/10 the cost. Ditto for the diploma, Plenty of schools excel at some things and are mediocre in others. who would you interview first, a particle physicist from Suny Buffalo or MIT ? I think you see what I mean yet Buffalo is not a bad school at all... if you want engineering or law (if i remember right that is) excellent at both.

Just contact your state offices and find out if ITT Tech is an accredited school there.

I do have to say I've run into a few good people that came out of that school, as a team lead and as someone who has been responsible for hiring people, I would not bypass someone for an interview if I saw they went to ITT.
