I bit of background. I havent touched a custom build in about 5 years. real life and what not, had to sell my baby (sad how $2800 turns into $600 when you are in a jam)

But now I am at a point where I can once again look at building a new rig. I have done some homework (last time I created anything Phenoms hit the market, were still buggy and only 4 core, and AMD was still working on AM2 sockets)

This new rig will serve as a multi function PC, gaming, graphic design, college, gaming, double as TV for editing etc, (did I mention gaming?) and I want to build something that will serve me for a decent amount of time. My budget is right at $1900.

I want something that will run BF4 as wel as Adobe Master Suite.....

So here is the build: (upgrades can be done afterwards...) (example multiple CD/DVD Roms, card readers, etc)

***CM Storm Stryker White Full tower $154.99 @ Newegg (I like the case, love the air flow and the massize room)

***ASUS Crossfire V Formula Z AM3+ AMD 990FX $224.99 @ Newegg (the focal point of the build. I wanted to go with AM3+ so that the main guts of the PC will stay with me for at least the forseeable future)

***AMD FX-6350 Vishera 6-Core 3.9GHz Socket AM3+ 125W $139.99 @Newegg (I am an AMD fan, I realize intel beats them on benchmarks, but I have always been AMD, and I guess I root for the underdog)

***Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600 $169.99 @ Newegg

***Sapphire Dual-X R9 270 2GB 256 bit GDDR5 $164.99 @ Newegg

***Seagate 2T 7200 Barracuda $85 @Newegg

***SAMSUNG 840 EVO 2.5” 250GB SATA 6Gb/s SolidState $139.99 @Newegg

***EVGA Supernova 850 G2 PSU $139.99 @ Newegg

***CM Storm Quickfire Ultimate keyboard $109.99 @ Newegg

***LOGITECH G502 Proteus gaming mouse $79.99 @Newegg (I have big hands and love a good size adjustable mouse)

***ASUS AC1300 Wireless adapter PCI-E $72.99 @ Newegg

***LG Blu-Ray SATA OEM $49.99 @ Newegg

Windows 8.1 full version $119.99 @ Newegg (will be checking Microsoft.com for educational deals)

Total Build (using todays newegg instant rebates) $1872.86

Yeah build looks good! Usually your GPU is the most expensive part in a build but here it is the Motherboard. I play BF4 a lot on my PC and I only have a GTX 660 and I get 55FPS plus on custom ultra settings! So you'll be fine!
Microsoft sell 8.1 Pro for only £49.99, looks to be $69.99 off their site so you will save lots of money there!!
Good Luck, and don't rush it. Personally, if I would change anything, it would be:
1. i5 4670K
2. Asus Z87 Pro MOBO
That would save you around $80?
Up to you! :)
