I'm thinking of getting a new monitor, 21.5" with DVI-D and HDMI.
Since I'm currently using a DVI-D to HDMI adapter because my DVI-D cable broke, my question is, if I use a DVI-D cable to connect it to my 2nd monitor (the one I am thinking of buying), will it look the same? Because I'm pretty sure when I use an adapter it changes the corresponding resolution according to the output (in this case it's the HDMI that connects to my graphics card and the other side the DVI-D to my monitor.)
What if I use a DVI-D to DVI-D cable on the 2nd monitor? Will it look the same?
Yes. I am currently using two identical screens, one hooked up using HDMI and one using DVI-D, they are absolutely identical which makes perfect sense since they are getting fed digital video signals which are going to be exactly the same regardless of the cable.
