Solution
If you are just using the second monitor for web browsing, you can either plug it into your graphics card, or into your motherboard and use the integrated graphics on your cpu to power it.

Go to nvidia control panel, multiple panels, and switch to 'extend'. There you can also decide which monitor will be primary.

Your monitor will come with several cables, any of which will work. Display port to display port is the best followed by dvi-dvi then hdmi.
Your 780 is more than capable of 2 monitors, so just plug both into it, but if possible I'd run display port on primary, dvi on second.
