NOOB OVERCLOCKER imo. I recently overclocked my fx6300 to 4.31ghz from the stock 3.5 with a Corsair H55 temps dont go past 60C!
NOW i have a Sapphire R9 270x with a 1070mhz core clock, 1400mem clock, 1.238V. STOCK
my adverage temps are just below 60C on the high end games like BF4. I saw a post on here with someone getting a extra 100mhz on both mem and gpu clock and lowering the voltage a bit. It ran for a while but froze up when i was just web browsing. I was wondering if someone could give me more info on overclocking my GPU. So many different information is out there for those specific conditions.
I heard my GPU is really just a steroid pumped up version of some other card [I forgot what one]. Would it be benifitial or even possible to get a little more out of my GPU?

FX-6300 [OC 4.3] Corsair H55
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
Sapphire R9 270X

no its not beneficial at all, a 100mhz will maybe give you 1 fps more, going higher will not give you that much more.
so why not let it on stock.but if you want try instead of 100mhz 85mhz and see what it does, I dont touch the voltage of any card.

How would i go about changing the values. Do i need to change the core clock as well as the mem clock. Or would one be better for games like Simcity, Banished ones that add more workload over time. Not really to concerned with leag orue BF4 more fast combat games

just take msi afterburner, first start with moving the power limit to the max, then start to move the core clock a bit, start with about 5% of the original core clock, run a few benchmarks like ungine valley and firestrike, if oke give the core 10mhz more and test again, and so on, at 1 moment you will see artifects or screenfreeze, or driver crashing, if that happens then put the core 15mhz less.
if all is oke and you are at the max then start with the memory and do the same.
