I thought it would be good to make a thread to discuss the news of changes and movements in the Linux world and discuss them rather than constantly talking about troubleshooting and problems.

Right now KDE 5 is on my top lists of UIs to try out.

I'm still undecided on my next-gen UI of choice yet. Any thoughts? Do you think this is a nice step for KDE? I certainly approve of the simplified visual design. It looks much nicer than the old KDE 4 clutter to me.

Unfortunately I don't use the KDE-specific applications very often. I'm very cross-platform, so I'm not sure how much utility I can get out of it.

Certainly a good idea, for a discussion; however, it'll usually come down to these questions: how do you install "xyz" dual boot -- and/or -- what distro should I install. I think a sticky for a subjective "which is best" is better, but set some rules before an answer is accepted (example - links - screenshots - why is it the best - etc...).

KDE - that's me - I love it and can't wait until the KDE5 release. Unfortunately, I can't test it on my 'production' box, so I'll have to wait until it officially released.

The internet and our forums are full of that. We don't need another thread about that kind of stuff, honestly.

KDE 5 looks nice - I'm just wondering how it runs in real life.

Waiting for a distro to pick it up like Fedora.

I can't imagine actually using KDE. Just something about it that throws me off.
