Need new processor help!

I have an intel pentium D dual core processor, and I need to upgrade it. I have a lga775 socket on my motherboard. Any suggestions on a nice fast processor that will not bottleneck my gtx 750 ti? Also, with an older motherboard, will i be able to use like a intel core 2 quad?

I'd go for Core2Extreme X6800, Intel Core2Duo E6700, or Intel Core2Duo E6600
the best you can get for that motherboard

Unfortunately the motherboard doesn't support quad-core processors
