Not getting audio (Asus M5A97 R2.0)

I am getting literally NOTHING when it comes to using the jacks from my PC. I have tried the obvious solutions of making sure the playback devices is set to default on the correct spot and that the ports in the back of the motherboard are plugged in correctly. When I try to run any audio from my speakers they are either not playing any audio or just making a buzz sort of noise. No it is not my speakers either because the headset that I have as a secondary sound source also doesn't work and the same problems i'm having with the speakers - I'm having with the headset. Any suggestions is highly appreciated as I would like to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible.

Do you wish to measure resistances and voltages to check if its hardware problem?
