I have an AMD 290X and using three each 22" Samsung monitors as one horizontal display group. I want to free up my laptop, currently in a desktop style configuration to use as a side research/browsing system. I want to use my current desktop to do everything, so I need to figure out how to add a monitor (not of the same brand or size) to my configuration. I do not want to group the extra monitor. I only want it hanging around to browse, email, research while I game.
I had the idea to connect the extra monitor to the mother boards integrated graphics since no $$$ would need to be spent. Can this be done since the integrated graphics would not be part of the AMD Catalyst setup? If not, is the 290X capable of one triple monitor grouping with one add on? Suggestions? FYI, I do have a Tripple monitor MST hub that I have yet to use. Seems my cables were all standard to mini. The 290X went standard DP cables.
Thanks,
Brian
