It depends on what monitor you have, If its has HDMI, Get a HDMI cable, If its VGA, Get a VGA cable etc. etc.

Not quite as simple as that. What outputs do you have on your XBOX? Composite and HDMI I assume? What imputs does your monitor have?

You will need a composite to VGA adapter and you will likely need something else for audio as well.

HDMI is HD, composite is 480p.

I completely forgot but you can get a HDMI to DVI cable. (Doh) but you will still need some way to work out the audio.

You can try that but it may be fake (Seen fake ones before) HDMI to VGA needs to have an active converter (something with a small processor etc) which increases the cost of a cable quite about (around $50 for a cheap one) as it needs to convert Digital to Analog, for HDMI to VGA. While HDMI to DVI is just digital to digital, no extra nonsense needed.

From picture this looks legit to me but i don't know,so is there a difference in picture quality HDMI TO VGA,HDMI to DVI and btw (i know i am getting annoying) but i heard a lot about xbox 360 damaging flat screen TVs/monitors is there truth to it?

I havent heard anything about XBOX's damaging TV's/monitors. That device looks like it will do the job, AFAIK the xbox does not support 3.5mm audio but maybe that converter has something.

DVI will typically have a better picture quality than VGA.

(I own a 360)

That cable is HDMI to DVI. For audio you would need a cable that would allow you to connect it to your speakers or headphones (3.5mm female adapter).

You might be able to do some weird Line in stuff with your onboard sound but if it works it is very complex.
