Please don't release this in the US. A 27" 1920x1080 panel is atrocious to look at - even with Gsync this is a fail. Come on now keep the larger formats for the WQHD panels and leave the 1080 to the 24"/23" crowd. And don't get me started on using TN at this screen size!

I won't buy a monitor priced above $299. Guess I'll be waiting a while longer.

Interesting but I still think I will go for the Asus Swift PG278Q for the 2560x1440 resolution. The red led on the base looks really similar to the Asus Swift.

ROG Swift needs some competition and this isn't it.

The article doesn't state it, but the quoted prices include VAT. Keep that in mind when comparing prices to your local ones for DDR3 (if they don't include taxes, or the tax rate is different from UK).

That's a ridiculous accusation to say that 1920x1080 is "atrocious" @ 27". I believe what you mean to say/generalize is that WQHD looks better @ 27", but 1080p is from from atrocious. I've been using 1080p monitors for years and never did I think it looks terrible.

I meant 1080 at 27". Come on now - that size and resolution is more pockmarked than a 16 year olds face!

You really like the look of a pixelated screen at that size? Wow. Ok I didn't mean to overgeneralize I suppose, but 1080 at anything above 24" starts looking nasty in my opinion. How's that - better? Just my opinion - that's all this is!

My 1920x1200 dell looks GREAT on 24in. No idea what you're talking about. Would I buy higher for 27? Yes, but I would pay more than what they're probably going to price this at ($400-500 US probably). My Dell 24 was near top end at $650 when I bought it. Also if you don't have the cards ('s, as in plural) to push those resolutions what's the point? 1440p can easily bring 780ti to it's knees when maxed out in most games (which is the only way I'll play, MAXED everything), and most don't have the cash for a $500 monitor and a pair of higher end cards.

1080p at 27" seems perfectly fine for me, I sit around 80cm (30.5") away from the screen.
The only time i can start picking the pixelation is around 30-40cm from the screen but i almost never sit that close to the screen anyway.

Meh going with a new LG ultra wide 31 inch 4k display when they hit this Fall. 27 inches and 1080 just don't cut it in my book, what do they think this is 2010...

i would have never agreed about 1080p before, but now i have a 27" samsung ips (straight from korea for $350 and OC'd to 100hz) that is 1440p and i could never go back and want 4k now more than ever.

even my CF 7950's are taken down by max settings in current games. (4.8 i5 2500k for reeference)

ASUS has a clear technological winner here, but I think a lot of people could be enticed by this Acer if it was a little cheaper (say 1/2 of the ASUS). Still, a proper 120Hz G-Sync IPS 1440 would be the best.

Separate note, I vote we drop the PROGRESSIVE SCAN part when discussing PC monitors.

IPS at 144Hz would be fraudulent as IPS really can't handle those frequencies. For gaming 1080p at 27 inch is acceptable.

OLED display had flaw that color degenerate much quicker..
it makes sense in phone/tablet but in monitor that have longer life cycle it still not good..

or they have found a way to fix/patch it, that I might not know...

However, it's undeniable that the qnix @ 96hz there's enough ghosting to annoy most of us. It's not that noticeable if you don't compare it, but sit that next to another 27inch 1ms TN panel also @ 96hz (ie. XL2720T) it's almost night and day difference.

Though I'm ridiculous happy with my 3x qnix 2710. Best $1k I've ever spend.

I think 1080p is perfect for 144hz. If i have a 144hz monitor i want to get near 100fps and i cant do that with a 1440p monitor unless i get 780ti sli or lower the detail, which i dont want to do.
