I am yet another console gamer making his way over to join the PC master race. However, after looking through some of the other first gaming builds, everyone else seems to have another purpose in mind as well. With the PC I'm looking to build i will only be playing games on it. No streaming, no game capturing, no typing documents, no streaming Netflix or watching movies. JUST VIDEO GAMES. I am a diversified gamer, the only thing I don't play are MOBA's, or MMORPG type games like World of Warcraft and Elder Scrolls Online

All my friends recommended a AMD build since 1) games will slowly begin using more than 4 cores and 2) I have no idea how to work Linux, so steam OS is not in my foreseeable future. I have no intention of overclocking but i would like the option.

My budget is $500-$600. I've already done several hours of research. Here are the parts i dwindled down to...

PROCESSOR
-AMD FX 8350 black edition
-AMD FX 8320
-AMD FX 6300
-AMD 750k and 760k 4 core
MOTHERBOARD
-Asus M5A97 AM3+
-Asus M5A99FX Pro R2 AM3+
-Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3
-MSI A78M-E35 FM2+ A78
GRAPHICS CARDS
-EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti
-Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 or 7870
EVERYTHING ELSE
-Crucial Ballistix Sport 8gb DDR3 1600
-WB Blue 1 TB Hard Drive
-Rosewill 550W

If there are any parts that would suit the build better please comment. Otherwise, which parts should I go with?

8350 always. I suggest it religiously when doing AMD builds.

M5A99FX Pro R2.0. I also suggest it religiously.

7950 will out perform the others.

Bump up the PSU rating if you get a 7950 or 7870 as they are more power hungry.
WD Black or and SSD if you can afford it.

Looks good besides those nitpicky things.
