I am doing my first liquid cooling build and was wondering what the thoughts are on this parts list and if there was anything I need to add. I am hoping for a quiet build that will keep my R9-290x cool. Not sure if I should get a kill coil or some additive as I am planning on using plain distilled water.

This is my current computer build.

  • i5-2500k @ 4.4GHz
    Radeon R9-290x
    Asus P8P67
    2x 4GB ADATA RAM
    Antec HCG 700W
    Core 3500-Window
These are the parts I am planning on buy from FrozenCPU currently.

  • EK R9-290X WB
    EK Supreme LTX
    EK DDC X-RES Top 140 w/ 3.2 PWM Pump + mounting stuff
    Alphacool NexXxos XT45 Dual 140mm
    Alphacool NexXxos ST30 Dual 120mm
    2x BitFenix Spectre Pro 120mm
    2x BitFenix Spectre Pro 140mm
PrimoChill 1/2" OD Rigid PETG Tube 4x 36" Pack + bending kit
PrimoChill 1/2" OD Rigid Revolver 10 pack
4-Pin Power Distribution PCB 5xWay Block
Right now the total comes out to about $600, I am hoping not go much higher.

Thanks for any help or advice.

You need a kilcoil or biocide, dont want gunk growing in your loop.

That parts list looks fine, though I personally would err toward a D5 rather than DDC pump. D5's are self cooled by the water that flows through it, while DDC's realy on ambient airflow. Its unlikely to be a problem, but there have been cases where DDC's have overheated their PCB's.

The pump will be sitting right behind one of the fans on the UT45 so it should get some good air flow. I will add kilcoil to the list. Thanks for the advice
