Add a graphics card to my A10-7850

I recently bought a A10-7850K processor, i now wonder can i install my old graphics card with this APU without problems? It is a Radeon HD5870, or should i buy the r7 250 card, if so does it matter if i buy a ddr3 or gddr5? And if i'm able to install my old card will that perform better than using only the APU?

Yes, the HD 5870 will outperform the on-die GPU of the A10-7850K. And probably do better than a dual graphics setup with a R7-250. If you use the HD 5870, be sure to remember to move the video cable from the MB output to the card's output.

Thanks for answering this fast! When i took a closer look i actually had a HD5570 but i get the point.

Whoa! The HD 5570 is a totally different and much weaker gfx card than the HD 5870. In that case, the on-die GPU of the A10-7850K will OUTPERFORM the HD 5570.
