I5 vs A8 r5

Hi I am currently looking at two laptops, unfortunately the futureshop website isn't working right now but they are the same acer chassis, one has an I5 4200u with the 4400 igpu and the other has a A8-7300 with a r5, they both have 8 gb's of ram. It will be used for some light after effects work and gaming. I already tried the same chassis with an I5 and r7 that ran one of the two games I play on ultra 1080p so I hope the r5 wouldn't be to worse. So which one would be better?

I don't think there is an A8-7300?

If you meant the A10-7300 the CPUs would perform similarly, and the integrated graphics on the A10 should outperform those on the i5. However, the integrated graphics on that CPU is R6 so I'm still confused.

If you meant the A8-7100 then the 4200u should have slightly better CPU performance and the graphics would be more similar.

Either way, none of these integrated graphics should be expected to perform well for gaming. If gaming is important, you should look for a laptop with a dedicated graphics card unless you are sticking to fairly old games.
