I guess I could knock the budget a bit higher, the build u showed doesnt change much just the hard drive is different whats special about this hard drive (sorry i dont know much about hard drives and which ones are better), and also should i just get a 128 gb ssd instead as hard drive ( http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/a-data-internal-hard-drive-asp600s3128gmc ) this is the new build with the price below $350 (http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/strQK8),
and also what operating system should i get for it (i was thinking either windows xp proffessional/ Ubuntu server software)

The Seagate one is designed to run 24x7, that WD one isn't. This WD Red is like the seagate though, designed to run 24x7. For a minecraft server you'll definitely want more than 4 gbs of ram. And if you use your original CPU you'll have to fine some way to update the motherboard's bios with another CPU that already works in it before putting in the one you want to. (if you already have a LGA 1150 cpu in another computer that would work) Or buy an H97 motherboard, which is more expensive than getting the more expensive cpu.

The SSD isn't a good idea for a server application, as they have more limited lifespans than tradiational hard disks, and the constant writing to the memory causes their lifespan to shorten.

Well not exactly, although we are on NBN and data limit is 500 gb, everymonth we barely go past 150 gb of usage, so instead of wasting money i want to use up that much data. ;)
