As the title states, I'm looking for a window manager to use on my copy of Ubuntu. Even though I'm relatively new to Linux, I can safely say that I don't enjoy using these big desktop environments such as GNOME, KDE, etc. Something simple that manages my windows and stays out of the way as much as possible is something I'd much rather prefer.

So far, I've tried out only awesome (with Ubuntu/Xubuntu) and Openbox (with Crunchbang). I had good memories of using Openbox but that's not what I'm looking for. A window manager like awesome would be much more preferred, but I can't seem to make up my mind.

Any suggestions?

  1.
I like openbox+tint2rc. I like my mouse.
i3 is probably the most popular tiling window manager at the moment.
