Sapphire R9 290x Vapor-X and Fx-8350 VS. Nvidia Geforce Gtx 780 and i7-4790k. Which One is better?

Hello community, I am going to be building my first gaming PC and i'm stuck in between these two gpu/cpu combos. Which is better as a combo Sapphire R9 290x Vapor-X and Fx-8350 or Nvidia Geforce Gtx 780 and i7-4790k. Which One is better?

  1. I would take neither.
The 8320 is a good processor, but there are better for gaming. The 290x is better than the 780.
An i7 is overkill for gaming, and the 780 is weaker.

I would take something like a 4690k and an r9 290/290x. The processor is more suited for gaming, and the card delivers 780 levels of performance at a 770 price point.
  2. thanks

Yeah. I like this combination 4690k and an R9 290x. The R9 290x's got nice wide 512 mb bus to push information through. It should keep you at the front of the tech wave or current for three years.
I'd say the same for the i7 processor. I still have an older i7 920 I use for work (Feb 2009) and it's still amazingly quick. A good psu and UPS unit and you're all set.
