Hi,

I build a new rig with 4790k and I can't decide which mb should I get. The main reason of my confusion is I consider look of mb. I bought corsair 760t case and It has a glass side. I am between MAXIMUS VII HERO and Z97 Pro (WI-FI AC). I don't like look of Z97 Pro (WI-FI AC) because of Its golden color parts. I hate that color.

Z97 Pro (WI-FI AC) some plus specs. 12 Phase Power Design, Sata express port, Bluetooth and more usb ports. also Z97 Pro (WI-FI AC) is $25 cheaper than MAXIMUS VII HERO.

MAXIMUS VII HERO has 8+2 Phase Power Design, no express sata port, no bluetooth and 2 less usb ports.

Z97 Pro (WI-FI AC) is really much better than MAXIMUS VII HERO?

The Maximus is a better board.
The Hero is one of the best Z97 motherboards we have.
Yea,the ASUS has more features, but you can't OC that well on the Z97 PRO as you would OC on the Hero.

Why? Doesn't z97 pro have an advantage with 12 phase power design?

Well,if you're not gonna do some serious OCing, then the Z97 PRO is all you need.
If you are, then the Hero is the way to go.
Both are ASUS motherboards,so you can't go wrong with them. ;)

I am close to Hero because I don't think I am gonna use express sata device in near future. That would be nice if hero had 12 phase power design too. Even my two years old mb P8Z77-V PRO has 16 phase power design! :??:

I know more phase means less heat. I am planning to OC my 4790k to 4.8ghz. I hope HERO can take it.

Of course it can. It's meant for extreme OCing. ;)
