Hello,

My GPU recently died on me and I'm trying to use the onboard graphics to work until I get a new GPU. I have a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4 motherboard and Asus VH242 monitor.

Seeing as the motherboard only has an HDMI output I aquired a HDMI cable and tried to see if it would work but my monitor wasn't receiving a signal. And yes I did use the button on the monitor to change from VGA/DVI to HDMI. The cable also should be alright I believe since I used it to connect my laptop to a TV display.

If there's anything I didn't do yet I would appreciate the help to figure it out, thank you.

Try connecting your computer HDMI to your television and see if you have a different result.

If you get a display - then there is an issue with your monitor.

If you fail to get a display - the problem is potentially with your MB.

Worst case - order a cheep video card with HDMI until you can afford something worth while.
