Single vs Surround monitors

I am stuck between getting a high quality single monitor vs a 2 or even 3 monitor surround
a single Asus ROG Swift (http://www.asus.com/Monitors/ROG_SWIFT_PG278Q/) or
two or three Asus mx279h 27inch monitors (http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/MX279H/)
I will be doing mostly gaming and may do some video editing from time to time. Im running a GTX 780 with a 4770k. I have some sort of video playing in the background on the second screen im using now and find it helpful. but i don't know if its worth giving up for a single really good monitor.
any suggestions?

we could give pro and cons all day but if you have the money and you want it. Get it. nobody knows better than you what you really need.

2-3 monitor will be better.
The ROG is too new to be cost efficient

I'm going so say neither unless you buy another 780 or are willing to drop the quality settings, but otherwise it's really up to you, but you can get a much cheaper 144Hz monitor than the ROG. A single 780 doesn't get much over 60 fps in a lot of the latest games at max settings, so a 144Hz monitor would be waisted unless you drop the quality, and to play on triple monitors you would have to drop the quality also.

So you already have two screens?

Get the ROG Swift, add it as your primary display.
There, you have three screens (even if you cant use them in Surround you have that desktop area) and the best gaming monitor on the market.

From personal experience.

I had a triple screen set-up for gaming. It was great and did feel like you were more in the game.

The issues were however, even with 2 x Titans in SLI, they started to struggle at the highest settings on some games. It was a little FPS so it wasn't a big issue.

Another small issue was it took up a lot of space, and I was moving out to my first house, so didn't want the lounge cluttered.

The main issues were that many games didn't support it fully. Even those that did had serious issues with character models breaking (seeing through characters arms, or guns becoming deformed. Also the side screens seem to look strange in a lot of games. Strange like they are at a weird angle to give more of a peripheral vision.

In the end I went for a higher resolution single screen for the support from the games companies. So now I have better performance and the games look better. I hope this helps!

Go for the single Rog.

The G-sync features apparently negates the need to turn on v-sync, so your GPU's can focus their processing power on other tasks.
