Old Intel Questions.

Hello Im really really new to pc's clock speeds and all that jazz. I have two computers one HP mini Netbook with an Intel Atom (1.6ghz?) and an iMac with i5 Duo. A friend was going to throw out a 3.0GHZ Pentium Duel core? And said I could have if I wanted it for a small price. Would that clock be Noticably faster then my current computers thanks sorry for the really nooby question

the pentium dual core would be more powerful than the atom but no the i5 duo .. its not worth the upgrade unless it is really cheap though .. whats the selling price ?

It is not like that a 3.4 ghz i5 can be faster than an 4 ghz fx 8350.
