4k vs 1440p What to invest in (880, 780 ti 4k 2k 1440p 2160p)

I'm looking to build my first gaming PC and im wondering if i could get a 4k monitor for the same price as a 1440p one should I go for it? the 1440p one im looking at is obviously the Asus Rog Swift with G-sync and 144hz refresh. The 4k monitor I'm looking at is the Acer XB280HK with 60hz and G-sync. Keep in mind I only have room for a 27 to 30 inch monitor. My graphics Card will be an 880 when it releases. If I go with 4k will I have to SLI to get a 60+ framerate?

It depends on how well the 880s perform. Right now you need Xfire 290xs to maintain a stable FPS over 30.

If that rumor is true it should run 4k, but it likely wont be up to 60 FPS. Maybe 30s-40s however.
