Hi guys,

I need help in making a low budget gaming PC for about $400-$500 or ₱17500-₱20000 in our country's currency.I know it's really on low budget, but i'd like to get a bang for my bucks if I can. I'm going to purchase the parts probably after a week once I finally know what parts I should buy. I would prolly need all parts(inc. monitor). I'm only able to purchase the parts from this site: http://www.pcx.com.ph by the way, and sorry if it does not have many options... Main use would be for gaming.

Can you please post answers in this format?

Any help would be appreciated.

Is there nothing that you have? like a mouse, keyboard or OS? Would you consider using Ubuntu which is a free operating system?. It's going to be really hard to get something for gaming at your budget.

You can exclude the mouse, KB and OS from the budget, and I think I wont need an optical drive. Ill try and find something. But all else would be from scratch for this would be my first Desktop.

It's actually all I can afford so, yep, it's really tight. :(

Ok this is what I got. It was very hard sacrificing brand premiums in order to get a decent performance. I want you to double check this build on pcpartpicker to see if everything is compatible. Also look up reviews for each part. I had to go with the cheapest case, etc in order to fit everything into your budget.

WESTERN DIGITAL 500GB BLUE 3.5" SATA (WD5000AAKX) hard drive - ₱2,300.00
GIGABYTE GZ-ZE2 W/O PSU case - ₱950.00
CORSAIR VS450 450W power supply - ₱1,580.00
KINGSTON 4GB DDR3 PC1600 SODIMM (KVR16S11S8/4) memory - ₱1,900.00
INTEL PENTIUM G3220 processor - ₱2,600.00
ECS H61H2-MV GLV1.0 motherboard - ₱1,750.00
POWERCOLOR TURBODUO R7 260X OC 2GB GDDR5 128BIT (AXR7 260X 2GBD5-TDHE/OC) VIDEO CARD - ₱6,200.00
VIEWSONIC 16" LED VA1601W BLK monitor - ₱2,750.00
Grand Total ₱20,030.00

Thanks a lot! I'll double check all of them. Pretty excited here. :D

Edit: Hey, I double checked at PCPartPicker and the Mobo isnt compatible with the processor. :(

You might want to switch out the GPU for this one

http://pcx.com.ph/components/graphics-card/nvidia/palit...

The R260x has a minimum power requirement of 500w and the cheapest psu that I felt comfortable with is 450w. It will probably be ok for the R260x, but to be on the safe side you might want to consider the GTX 750 which has a power requirement of only 400w.

Hey, I double checked at PCPartPicker and the Mobo isnt compatible with the processor. :(

as for the GPU, i've read reviews that 260x is all around better. So should i just pick another PSU?

Maybe I can exclude the monitor from the budget to make room for price adjustments.

Can anyone help me with which Mobo and Processor to choose? Since the one Teemi mentioned is not compatible with each other.

Also the R260x is better than the gtx 750, but I was trying to stay within your budget. A higher wattage psu that's still a decent brand would go over your budget. Keep in mind that you really shouldn't go too cheap with the psu. A bad one can destroy your whole system.

You may also want to get a slow ram such as the one below. I just realized that your cpu doesn't support the newest and fastest ram anyway. But if you're planning to upgrade in the future, stick with the ram I posted before.

if I were to stick with r260x should i choose a different PSU. I could bump the budget up by 2000php or 50$, and that's pushin' it. lol.

I appreciate your help very much. Thaaankks! :D

thanks! I'll be going with this rig. I'll be buying this week so, again, thanks a lot!

Btw, is this rig okay for upgrading? And an option for an AMD rig? got ideas?

I wouldn't go with amd at this price level. The best budget amd card is the 6300, but even that is beyond your budget if you want a decent gpu. Upgrading depends mainly on the motherboard. I'm not going to lie, if you want more future proofing you need a better motherboard. Your current one can go up to 1600 mhz ram and a much better gpu + cpu, but don't expect ddr4 ram or use 2 gpus at the same time or anything like that. This mobo also isn't very good for overclocking. At your budget, it's all about what you want the most and what you are ok with sacrificing. I went down as much as I can in the other components giving you the best gpu possible. If you want to upgrade the other areas, you have to get a cheaper gpu.

i was thinking of i3-4150 as my next step. But hey, cant get everything you want.

thanks for all the help, man. I'll be sticking with the build you came up with. :D

The good news is that the i3-4150 will fit into your current motherboard.
