Hi, would i be able to run 2 monitors and a tv using a R7 260x on Gigabyte Z97M-DS3H or Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H.

I don't watch tv my aerial blew off the roof last year, never bothered to replace because i never had tv on anyway. However i do use it for watching films that are on my pc. I'm about to start a new build and don't want to spend loads on graphics or motherboard because i want a i7-4790K or i7 3770k hence the 2 different socket motherboards. I want a decent graphics card but don't want to spend loads and i thought the R7 seemed decent, has good benchmarks and is only around £80. Either that or buy secondhand! I want it so 2 monitors with 1 image across both screens and the tv separate with separate video all playing at same time, can this happen? Managed to get two of these fairly cheap: Benq XL2420T proper nice!
Im not much of a gamer do some playing but not much and do some video editing not pro, so not in need of a real good one. At the minute i've got a Zotac 9800gt on an Asus P5Q with 6gb Geil running E8500 in an In-Win Maelstrom. I built it 4 years ago at the time was high end but I need a new set up, obviously!
The card I have now suits my gaming needs it plays all/most dx10 games on mid-high with decent fps it even plays some on ultra with around 20-30fps. Like i say not a gamer so having everything on ultra in full hd doesn't bother me! Just want a top pc that looks fit and encodes films in a few minutes and can handle when i need on occasion film/image editing in Sony Vegas or Photoshop/CS5.

Anyway so yeh sorry for going on, anyone help me please?

Cheers

BTW i have tried Google if anyone is gonna point out "Google is your friend".

If you intend this build for a normal video editing you'd be fine with an i5, but if you do prefer an i7 I'd go with the i7-3770k it is more than enough to handle all that. spending the rest on a better card than the 260x is my choice. like a 270x or 280 (4GB).

Thanks and will what i want work? I think there's only £20 difference between the two cpus the 3770k is £230 and the 4790k is £250! Just checked on dabs there's only £10 difference 239 & 249 and they were the cheapest i could find! The 3770 is a lot cheaper found one for £147. Just found an i7 4820k it's faster and cheaper than both at 235.

Is that the R9 you're talking about? Just found an R9 270x 2gb for a ton!

The 4820k is indeed better than them and cheaper ? that's a bargain, but it's not supported by the Z97M-DS3H as it needs an LGA2011 socket, so you have to pay for another LGA2011 motherboards which is not cheap. The 3770k is the best unless you are that much into editing then the 4790 would make a bit . And yes I was talking about the R9 270x. It would work yes. I said 4GB because multi monitor specially with 3 1080p monitors on some games. if you intend to play on one 1080p monitor then 2gb is just fine. But still if you can pay a bit more go for a better card like the r9 270 would be better, just for future proofing.

Thanks for your replies. it seems it's as simple as plugging the monitors and tv in and doing the settings in control panel, I found another thread on here! I wondered why you were just saying "yes you can do it" without any explanation, I thought it would be more complicated than it is.

I haven't bought any hardware yet apart from monitors, the motherboards I said are the ones i've been looking at. I wanted to check they were capable before buying. I get sort of obsessive when building a pc well when choosing the parts anyway that's why not done one for 4 years, it'd be alright if i was loaded!

I nearly shit my pants when i saw the price of the 2011 motherboards no wonder the 4820k is cheaper, that's out the window!
Think i'll go for the 3770k gonna be a lot better than what i was aiming for which was an amd fx-8350. See what i mean about obsession? When i first started looking last week i never knew 8 cores existed, i've gone up and up from an i3 bouncing from intel to amd adding more and more money on! Gonna end up with a brain hernia if they existed!

I'm going for the future proofing like you say, I don't wanna build another for 4 more years!

Whichever one i get will be like driving a Ferrari after a Lada compared to my setup :)

Good to hear that m8 !
And yes it would be driving a ferrari, and even after years when your ferrari starts to get slow for you just put another r9 270 and run it crossfired and see what twin turbos do :p

Good luck buddy
