Anyone have a better idea than this for my motherboard/cpu combo on new build?

I'm trying to upgrade my computer without replacing everything. 2 things that must be replaced are the motherboard and cpu. I'm looking for the best possible performance for the least money. My first thoughts weren't as cheap as i'd like but seem like sweet parts. I thought about trying to get an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 (open box board on newegg going for I think $140) and an AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6 core cpu. The AM3+ seems like a good socket for future upgrading and that board seems pretty beastly.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a combo that might give me similar performance at a lower cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's links to the parts I mentioned if anyone wants to see any specs...

You would get the same performance spending $90 on a board with a 970 series chip set .
The sabertooth might OC higher , but then you can get good OC's on the $90 board too .
That would let you get an FX 8320 and a cooler for just $20 more

And if you check on pricespy you may get these items even cheaper

I checked out some videos on this cooler you linked. It looks HUGE. With this motherboard you think it will block any other components on the board? Do they make quality coolers that arent huge or is size kind of necessary if you want to cool properly?

Also, I took a glance at pricespy. Everything they had was easily $100 over neweggs prices. Is this site kind of hit and miss but find killer deals every now and then? Maybe I was looking in the wrong area..
