I am building a computer for the first time and need help to know if this power supply is enough for my build.

Power supply - corsair cx 600 watt 80 plus bronze

Cpu - i5 4690k 3.5 ghz
Cpu fan - cooler master hyper 212 evo
Mobo - asus z97 a
Memory - corsair vengeance 8gb (2*4)
Hard drive - Western digital blue 1tb
Video card - Evga gtx 770 2gb superclocked acx
Optical drive - asus drw-24b1st

600W should be enough for your system, but the CX PSUs use cheap capacitors and they're not recommended for higher-end systems.
Antec HCG 620M,Seasonic M12II Bronze 620W,XFX Core 650W or Rosewill Capstone 650M are my recommendations.Better quality PSUs and will last for a long time.
Hope this helps. ;)

The psu is actually a cxm 600 watt.does that make a difference?
I made the mistake of buying the psu without doing enough research so I already have it. I just don't want the psu to break all my other computer parts when I put the computer together.

You should be ok, but i would advise a higher grade psu if possible.
