I'm on a limited budget, looked at getting the R9 270, GTX 760 and even the GTX 770, I could slightly afford a better card so I'm going for the R9 280 because its just a bit slower than the 770 with a better price tag. Looking at newegg there isn't a lot of good reviews on these cards .-. and I'd want to know which one I should go for. Highest I can go is $260

PowerColor TurboDuo AX R9 280 3GB
HIS IceQ OC R9 280 3GB
GIGABYTE OC (3 Fans) R9 280 3GB
SAPPHIRE DUAL-X R9 280
XFX Double D R9-280

go for the sapphire dual x its cheap and cool plus sapphire have good after sales service and is the biggest producer of AMD cards ......performance wise every brand are more or less the same and will give u identical performance in gaming.

The problem with Gigabyte is the horrible reviews they are getting (DOA's) :(  and I'll go with the Sapphire, but one question what is the difference between
SAPPHIRE DUAL-X Radeon R9 280 14-202-099 Video Card (Only in USA with good reviews)
and
SAPPHIRE DUAL-X Radeon R9 280 100373-2L Video Card (One Available in Canada, have them in USA Newegg but more expensive)

No idea, they are all going to be the same, you wont regret.

Go for the cheapest one you could get u will not see any noticeable difference between them in performance or temperature.

Thats really weird.. The 2nd one you mentioned is $60 more than the other one in Canada.. But in the US it seams to be $5 cheaper than the first one.

I believe these are the two cards you are talking about:

Yes, those are exactly the cards I'm talking about :p  Will I have problems If I go with the cheaper one in Canada (One without reviews)? I'm afraid I'll get a DOA or something bad because I might get the first batch cards .-. Also I don't really care I just want a R9 280 that won't cause problems and would last me at least 3 years lol

Don't worry about DOA. First or last there are equal chances. All cards are usually tested before leaving factories. All cards are very competitive so they should all be lasting same time unless they turn faulty. Now Gigabyte and sapphire probable have lowest failure rates.

If you get a DOA or a faulty card later...I'm afraid its just your luck and it can happen to anyone. It cannot be avoided ;)

Forget it, I'm fine with like 10 fps drop, I'll get a better CPU 8320 instead of the i3 4150 and get the R9 270 Oc to 270x... I'll just lower Anti-Aliasing and play on 900p if needed XD

No with the 270 you won't need to play at 900p don't worry. You will be able to play high settings at 1080p on most games just fine.

yes the r9 270 is a great card for price you can easily play most of the games at ultra with good fps (40 -50 fps) and at 1080p monitor so if u are playing at 900 p then you will enjoy more fps.
