The recent advancements in "virtual reality", make me quite happy. Even ignoring the future possibilities that everyone is so obsessed with, I'm happy with the advancement of the presently released hardware. It's cool, it works, and even if it ends up amounting to nothing; which I doubt will be the case, I like it as an alternative to current controller types.
