two video cards on two monitors, lag when main monitor is on full screen

due to my monitors only being dvi-d, i have two seperate video cards for two monitors. main monitor has a 7970 and second monitor has a cheap 6450. when im playing a game on my main monitor, if im watching a video or have a website open with any animations on my second monitor, the main monitor becomes very laggy and hard to use. is this common? any fix? thank you

Do you have each monitor connected to a separate video card? If so, this is wrong. You need to configure this setup differently. The 7970 is an outstanding card while the 6450 is barely, if at all, better than most integrated graphics. You would likely have better performance with only the 7970 installed but this may mean you will need to get an additional cable to have two monitors connected. What is the exact model and brand of your 7970 and also I need the answer to the first question about how they are connected.
