Horizontal invisibles lines when I play video games

I have bought a new computer. I have a gpu EVGA geforce gtx 770 2gb (02g-p4-2774-kr) and a monitor asus monitor 19'' (VS198D-P) and when I play video games there is very often invisible horizontal lines on my screen (but when I'm on the desktop there is never these horizontal lines). Do someone know if this issue is caused by my screen or my gpu and have a solution please.

try turning vertical sync on, its probably because you are having more FPS than the refresh rate of the monitor

yeah its normal, when your fps are much higher than your refresh rate on your monitor you see those lines, and since you are playing on a a 19" monitor you have stupid high fps haha, upgrade your monitor on the future

It's called screen tearing, and it's when the monitor cannot display the frames as fast as the video card renders them, effectively making the two out of sync. V-Sync (or vertical sync), limits the FPS to the max refresh rate of the monitor to prevent the screen from being out of sync.

The only thing that a monitor has to do with FPS is it's resolution. Size does not matter.

You can play BF4 just as well on a jumbotron as you can on a gaming monitor provided that they are the same resolution. As long as they are both 1920x1080, no differences in FPS exist.
