Shipping cases and monitors

Hi, what's your opinion or experience about buying computer cases and monitors online (such as from Amazon) with regards shipping/delivery safety, damages, weight and whatever else is relevant please? Is it worth it or better to buy from a local store? I ask because the local stores have really limited choice and are significantly more expensive. Thanks!

I have never, ever had an issue with shipping quality from Amazon, Newegg, or wherever.

Consider this: How did that item get to your local store? It was shipped exactly the same way as to Amazon.
Truck, boat, truck, truck, etc, etc. The only step missing is direct to your house.
