Mid-High Gaming Build

Hi all, I'm looking for some help adapting/refining a system build. I'm happy to spend around $1600 but obviously reducing the price without sacrificing is great too! From Australia by the way.

It's a general purpose rig, with the most taxing activities likely to be gaming. I play just about everything, but BF4, modded Skyrim etc are good benchmarks currently. I already have peripherals, so these won't factor into the cost.

I've done a bit of research on Tom's Hardware, and put together a list that I think works pretty well which can be found here: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/NJn3NG

The price from my local computer hardware store (Umart) is slightly higher at $1677 using the
Gigabyte GTX 780 OC EDITION instead, priced at $555. http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id=10&bid=2&id2=247&sid=135732

I was also looking to buy the parts and build myself for this, so any tips would be welcome!

it's great build but I'll make a little change to reduce it's price and save money with a higher performance , and you will not need to Z97 mobo because of you have locked CPU either you do not need to 750 watts PSU ,650W is enough.
*side note : the GPU in this build is GTX 780 OC GHZ Edition not the OC edition . that is better than 290X in some apps.

I know that, for whatever reason, it just won't find the price for me

I've noticed you both changed the case - is this due to preference or is the NZXT Phantom not going to work with the build as it stands?

Is it worth going for the GTX 780? That's the part that I'm really undecided about, as it can quite easily drop $200 off.

No, the reason why we changed the case is that way you don't have to remove any hard drive bays to get the GPU in place. As the the gtx 780, it is a great card, don't get me wrong but unless you are wanting to game at 1440p or more, you are just as well off going with the gtx 770 instead and when that card isn't enough on its own, get a second one and put it in SLI

no man the phantom is pretty good but I just wanna to save money for you ! :)
and the 780 GHZ is more than good and it will be enough for more 3 years from now that will be excellent choice

Pretty sure its a discussion thread (woops), so I'm not able to change it to solved/give a best answer yes?

Seeing as you are getting a processor which can overclock, you should get a motherboard which allows overclocking as well, but apart from that, everything else is good

Thanks Nuckles! I'd give you the solution tick if I could.
Just one question, is there an ASRock or Gigabyte board of similar price that you could suggest?
