Hey, all.

I always come here, but I've never registered for some reason. ...I think I'm just in too many forums now. haha.

Either way, I thought I'd ask a question here before I go and drive myself crazy trying to make it work. My home network is currently run through an older Netgear WNDR3700 router. No mods or anything. I have an old Netgear ProSafe VPN/Firewall FVS114 laying around here...and I was thinking about incorporating it in my network instead of using a service like Hamachi (which I currently have) or TorGuard...

So...my initial, not researched very well, idea is that I'm going to hook my FVS114 to my modem, turn OFF its DHCP handling, and still use my WNDR3700 as I currently do, except have it routed through my FVS114.

The first concern that pops into my head is that the FVS114 is a switch and not a router...will this proposed set up not work for that or any other reason? My other thought is that I want it "in front" of my main router because I utilize the gigabit LAN at home and the FVS is 10/100 & I want that Firewall/VPN on the front lines.

Thanks in advance! You folks rule!
